THURSTON COUNTY READINESS CENTER
Washington Military Department | Tumwater, Washington
Estimated Completion: Fall 2020 | Construction Cost: $38 million
The primary mission of the Thurston County Readiness Center is to provide a cost-effective and operationally efficient specialized training facility for the assigned units of the Washington Army National Guard and their personnel located in Washington Military Department’s South Puget Sound Region. The facility will house approximately 80,000 square feet of training, administrative and storage space and will allow the Washington Military Department to realize significant energy, maintenance, and operational efficiencies through the divestment of two obsolete facilities and consolidation of their functions into a single modern facility. Its proximity to other state agencies, as well as within the Tumwater community, will also facilitate its use as a conference and meeting facility in support of multiple agencies and public and community groups. The readiness center is projected to achieve LEED Silver sustainability certification.
