DUWAMISH TRAINING CENTER

South Seattle College  |  Seattle, Washington
Completed:  2004  |  Construction Cost:  $3.8 million

Located on the Duwamish Campus of South Seattle College, this project included the demolition of several temporary and portable structures followed by the construction of a new single-story building totaling 21,700 square feet.  The primary goal of this project was to provide fully-serviced, flexible, and safe laboratory/shops for the various apprenticeship trades operating through the college.

Our plan for the new building centered around four large labs/shops, each with an adjacent dedicated classroom.  A wood shop and storage areas for general campus use were integrated into the lab/shop area.  A secondary project goal was to increase academic use of the building.  Accordingly, the project included a general classroom, a small suite of administrative offices and general support spaces.
